"The Lego Movie" stacks on top


For what many tout as a high costing 'advertisement' for Lego blocks, "The Lego Movie" sure did exceed many expectations by casting many well-known actors to voice well-loved characters as animated Lego. 

The film ended up being highly praised by many and it has achieved being the number one movie for the weekend box office last week (7 - 9 February) in both Singapore and the United States. 

In Malaysia, however, audiences were still raving for the "Rocobop" reboot, beating out Chinese New Year-themed movies "The Journey" and "From Vegas to Macau", which held second and third place respectively. 

But Malaysia wasn't the only country giving love to the "Robocop" reboot, as the film also managed to be the second highest grossing film in Singapore for last weekend.

The following movies that fell in third, fourth and fifth place last weekend for Singapore include, "The Monkey King", "From Vegas to Macau" and "The Lion Men", respectively. 

For Malaysia's weekend box office results, "Huat Ah! Huat Ah! Huat" managed to debut quite well in fourth place. 

Other new movies that opened in Malaysia are "Golden Chickensss", "Kami Histeria" and "Goli Soda". 

Other new movies that opened in Singapore are "Ninaithale Inikkum", "Pannaiyarum Padminiyum", "Ner Ethir", "Hasee Toh Phasee", "The Book Thief", "Don't Click", "Jaatishwar: The Reincarnate", "Goli Soda" and "Nebraska".
